Bolz Center 30th Anniversary Collegium
September 17 & 18, 1999

More than 80 Bolz Center alumni, students, and special guests convened in Madison on September 17 & 18, 1999, for the Bolz Center's 30th Anniversary Collegium. Entitled "Leading the New Generation of Arts Organization," the two-day event featured keynote speeches, group discussions, and special presentations exploring the new role and challenges of the arts administrator in the 21st century.

Keynotes included arts leaders from across the country, including Ben Cameron, Executive Director of the Theatre Communications Group in New York; Allen Turner, an influential Chicago arts leader and former board chairman of the Museum of Contemporary Art; and Lawrence J. Wilker, President of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The collegium also featured an in-depth discussion of the changing role of public broadcasting in the information age, presented by alumni Dan Schmidt of Window to the World Communications in Chicago, and Steve Bass of WDCN in Nashville.

The Bolz Center celebrated its 30th year of excellence in arts administration education with this event.
